Hadis Nabi

Petang Islam, pagi kafir semula”. Sahabat bertanya lagi, “Mengapa begitu ya Rasullullah?”. Rasullullah SAW menjawab, “sebab dia menjual agamanya dengan nilai dunia”.

Demi masa, sesungguhnya manusia dalam kerugian .

Kecuali orang2 yang beriman dan beramal soleh

Yakni mereka yang berpesan-pesan dengan

kebenaran dan sabar...

food trip this time around across the bridge took us to Nibong Tebal, Penang . We patronized this old style kopitiam Lim Aik Chew. This place is known for its fresh large prawns, and is popular among the tourist and locals alike.

Top of the menu was the prawns, of course! These famous prawns comes in several sizes, and subsequently with different prices. Their signature cooking method of these prawns is the Dried Curry, although there are other methods as well.

Basket full of fresh prawns, just take a look at the size of the head!

Hubby holding up a live one…

Straight to the delicacies that we had!

We had a plate of curry prawns with shells intact and it cost approximately RM30. This dish turn out real good with the distinct taste of curry leaves, great for those curry prawn lovers. You could sense that they used authentic ingredients to create the sauce, instead of using those ready-packed.

Curry prawns at its best…

Just a shot of the “eggs” in the prawn head.. very guilty indeed :D

They served this curry prawn with rice or bread, the choice is up to you. We ended up having the bread as I see the other customers having it, and we didn’t want to come all the way here just to have rice. It came steaming hot and goes superbly well with the thick gravy. We ordered another plate of bread and finishes all the gravy from the plate. Yummy! Just imagine how good it really is. After our meal and a little chat with the shopkeeper, we were told that the bread were specially made for them according to their requirements by a bakery (which is actually run by his ex-classmate).

Besides the fantastic prawns, we also indulged in a triple flavoured fish as well as stir-fried vegetable. I would say that the fish was well done. Definitely dropping by in the near future for more.

Upon publishing this blog post, the market price of the medium size prawns was fifty-nine ringgit per kilo. The prawn dish itself is RM30 with the fish at RM27. The total bill for the food with bottles of fresh sugar cane juice cost RM69. Overall, a more than enjoyable long trip makan outing for the three of us. For other review, drop over to The Food Site.

On the way out of the shop, I got to know Choon Shih who was having lunch there as well with his lovely girlfriend. After chatting with him, I learned that he hails from Bukit Mertajam, loves photography but not into food blogging at the moment. It was great meeting the both of them and a word of thanks to him for sharing this photo with me.

Directions

After the Sungai Bakap/Nibong Tebal toll plaza, turn left and travel towards the town. Go up the viaduct/steel bridge. Descend and continue going straight. Pass two traffic lights.

Go straight and about 100m, you will see signboard to Sg Acheh on your right. Turn right and keep going till you reach a T-junction. Turn right and go straight and you will reach a small junction with a big road sign board. The shop is on your right, just beside the metal pedestrian and motorcycle bridge.
